I have just completed my preliminary work to join the roster at NERR. Now I am unable to open my MSTS due to it being unable to find an NEdash9 engine file. I have checked the trainset and that engine is not present. I did download and install the two F45 engines and the respective cab and sound files.

The first Full Bucket activities I downloaded and installed were NEFB-10-01a and NEFB 045-01. Didn't see any requirements for downloading any rolling stock and anyway, my prob. roster ddoesn't offer any equipment beyond the F45's.

Is there a beginning activity I should have downloaded that use the F45's ?.

Do I have to uninstall the entire NERR route to get my MSTS back or is there a better solution? Sad

I have tried to review my initial installation process and I seem to recall that there was a choice of two FB routes - 2.0 and 3.0. Did I make the wrong choice? The route that is in my MSTS is FBLine3 (just what is called for in the instructions). There are more that a few activities in FBLine3 that call for the dash9, as well at other locos besides the dash9. In this case, my experience with MSTS seems to indicate it would load if the dash9 were in the trainset, but what about the other locos called for in the acts that are also not there?

I've just checked the FB3.0 roster, and the 2 activities you mentioned are, in fact, activities for the FB3.

Do you have Trainstore and route riter?

If you first check an activity using route riter, it will highlight in red, any equipment that is missing. You can then go into the NERR roster to download and install the equipment.

Secondly, if you use trainstore to store all routes and activities, then unstore only the activity that you want to run, if there are any activities that reference missing equipment, that equipment will not be loaded and you will avoid the error.

If you also go into the roster and download the NERR dash 9 files, if you forget to store an activitiy that uses that engine, the error will go away.

Trainstore is in the NERR Roster under miscellaneous and route riter is available on Trainsim.com, download the file RouteRiter_v7.zip

Hi Richard,

Thanks much for getting back to me. I used Conbuilder to identify the NERR consists that did not have the required equipment downloaded and moved the eight or so consists and srv files to isolation. That solved the problem with MSTS and I was able to start it and then partially run (ran into a red signal that would not clear after 20 min) an NERR act.

My roster only includes the F45's for download. Maybe that is because I am still a "probie". I will try to get through my probation and see it that changes things. In the meanwhile I well try to run some NERR acts and see if that moves me forward in the training program.
