|
|
After some email discussion yesterday, Teemu Vehkaoja and I decided that the next version number of the "Full Bucket Line" will be 3.0 - plans for a version 2.1 update are cancelled.
I first intended to add some minor changes to version 2.0 without affecting any existing activity paths - that would have been version 2.1. However, there are some issues with the tracks in version 2.0 which should be fixed (those of you who have created activities for the FBL2.0 know what I'm talking about), and these fixes definitely will kill existing paths (due to MSTS' antediluvian track database). Sorry for that...
What are the consequences? Next version 3.0 will install in a new folder \FBLine3 without touching the "old" V2.0 (same procedure as migrating from version 1.0x to 2.0).
Well, 'nough said, FBL development goes on and on, we brake for nothing!
Cheers, the Bucketeer _________________ http://www.fullbucket.com/msts/

Hi Bucketeer,
As a SW Divison engineer I run the FBL, and look forward to your next revision.
Just between you and I it's your FBL and Kip's PRRR that convinced me that the SW division is the place to work here at NERR.
Thanks for all your efforts!! _________________ GaryH

Hi All!
Haven't posted here for a while (although I visit the forums almost every day)...
I just wanted to tell you that FBL version 3.0 is not dead.
Teemu aka TVRail and I have made some minor track modifications, now Teemu is working on the signals while I am extending the tracks to give him a headache.
Still no definite release date yet, but don't worry, we brake for noone...
Take care,
Björn _________________ http://www.fullbucket.com/msts/ |

Argh! Just to let you know, Björn does know how to build routes... I'm not equally qualified with signals. (It seems that each time Björn makes a new addition I am being presented a new problem -- okay maybe not. I remember when I got FBLine2 ...)
So far: the signal aspects will be a close match to those used by the BNSF Railway... And this time you need to pay attention to the signals
You will love the Version 3 -- well, excluding signals, perhaps |

If you look at the bottom of one of the postings further up this page, you will find a link to v2 of the FBL route. But I'm not sure why you want the older version. _________________ An expert is a person who knows enough about what's really going on to be scared.

Probably because he wants to run all those ver 2 activities. _________________ Harold Cogle

Maybe because the SW Division HQ page still lists the route as version 2 (though it lists fbline3.zip & fbl301fx.zip).

Thanks for that, Don. I've changed it now. There is probably quite a bit of old information on the website - I haven't looked at all its pages for a long time now. So if you see anything else, please let me know. _________________ An expert is a person who knows enough about what's really going on to be scared.

There are 37 NERR work orders for version 2 and 49 NERR work orders for version 3.
The newer ones are being written for version 3 only.
The wo's for version 2 are mostly for SD40-2, SD70M, GP38-2 and RDC.
The wo's for version 3 are more variety including 4-8-4, C-636, Dash 9, F7 and a 44 tonner.
